I love that quote from Spielberg - that's a great way of looking at it. And "post-partum" vid depression - perfect description! :-) And I love O Death - I don't think I ever even really realized that you'd edited two versions of the song together - it's gorgeous!

It definitely makes me think twice before I take something down or consider altering it in a major way.

Thank you, by the way. At about 11 seconds in is when the Ralph Stanley version begins and it only plays until about 24 seconds. So it's a tiny tiny snippet but it really really gave that song what it needed to be a perfect fit for the vid.

Thanks for reading. I need to go read the other interviews now!

What I found really fascinating is the way you often go backwards from the ending while editing, it's an such an interesting approach.

And dear god, yes: Perfectionism fading away is such a perfect way of putting it. I felt exactly the same way with 'God's Country' and 'Bite you', when I came back from my hiatus. I needed to find my footing again and lower my self-expectation, because it was destroying my motivation. I now have fun with vidding again and it feels great.

Yeah I have a tendency to do that and I'm not sure what it comes from. My methods are just so haphazard and that's what ends up happening more often than not. I'm actually working on a vid right now and one of the first things I did was the ending. Yet again.

It's definitely about cutting yourself some slack. But you can't always make that happen, even if you know you should. It's frustrating that way. But it does feel fantastic once you've finally "let go."

Aw. ♥ That is so sweet. Thank you so much. That means a lot to me especially because I know that it's a fandom that is very important and loved by a lot of people. (And rightfully so!)
