Yeah. That rape and murder is really beautiful. The inmates are definitely God's creation.

But, by that logic, god created man and gave him the capacity for evil. So when man does evil, that's god's fault.

That's convenient. But, so, it's still God's fault, though, for letting man choose to be evil.

I don't believe in god, so that's not really a concern for me.

I do good and put a stop to evil -- without murdering people, before you even ask -- and I don't have to believe in god to do it. It sounds to me like he really is just an excuse for people to do good or bad things. He's just a reason, rather than anything else.

So basically you need it as payment for doing good? If you believe in God, you're getting something out of it for doing good, rather than just doing "good for good's sake?"

I'm not saying you use it as payment. I'm just saying it's not selfless, because you're getting something out of it. You're doing it because you know it means something after you die.

Mostly? Either way, at that point it's probably a matter of habit. Although, I guess that goes back to that whole nature versus nurture question, doesn't it? Were you born a good, religious, close-minded person or did your upbringing make you that way? I go back and forth on that.

Are you saying that because you believe it? Or because it makes you sound more believable as a person if you admit to having some faults?

Yeah, but there can still be a genetic predisposition for certain characteristics. I feel like susceptibility to believing in things which have no proof could be inherited.
