It was a quaint neighborhood, suburbia USA with a few white picket fences and a satellite dish to boot. The rather gruff man with a cane and his teenage companion stuck out like sore thumbs, which didn't help matters when the disagreeable looking cripple began dragging the kid to one of the friendly porches ( Read more... )

Itsuki watched him patiently, leaning against the doorframe, smiling placidly as always and reminding himself that on the off-chance he got a criminal record on this world, it wouldn't carry over to his own. It wasn't that he was particularly morally opposed to bending the law a bit to get the necessary results if the situation arose; it was that it was the middle of the afternoon and House didn't seem too concerned about being incredibly obvious.

"Do you do this often?"

The clink of the lock opening answered his question, House straightening with a wince and a hand at his bad leg before glancing over. "Only on tuesdays. Weekends are for family and prayer."

He opened the door and hobbled into the neat room, glancing around with a probing and intense gaze before beginning to move towards the kitchen. "Health nut shows obvious sign of malnutrition as a symptom- either our disease has a sense of irony or we have one of those real symptom thingies to worry about." he said mockingly as he moved.

"I would think it would be easier to obtain the key, although I'm sure you're the expert." He followed after shutting the door, feeling slightly more relieved now that they weren't committing crimes out in the open.

"Are you looking for something that would cause malnutrition here, then? Or anything that catches your eye?" Frankly he wasn't quite sure House was doing this out of necessity rather than curiosity, but there wasn't much harm in playing along. Probably.

"Right, the best course of action is always the truth. People never hide their dirty incriminating secrets when they know you're going snooping." House answered, glancing over with a pointed look. "I know how much you value honesty."

It didn't take long to go through most of the cabinets, throwing vitamin and medical bottles, herbs and such for Itsuki to bag (why else would he bring him? Oh right, that sickness.) stopping only at a particular bottle that caught his eye. He turned, closing the cabinet and inspecting the label before moving and peeling off the top sticker to reveal another underneath.
