I feel the same way. Elinor and Brandon together is so much more satisfying. I went into a frothy bookrage when Edward freaking Ferrars rode up on that horse. I was begging for it to be Brandon, or the postman, or even Death; anyone but Ferrars! I

n my mind, Elinor's infatuation with Edward is just as immature and unstable as Marianne's reckless affair with Willoughby. Her relationship with Brandon was more mature, built on mutual respect and trust and affection, and having Elinor and Brandon together would have shown you can have BOTH sense and sensibility in a relationship.

Sorry for the driveby rant, but I was just gladdened to see that there was someone else out there who wished for a different ending. Thank you for linking to the sole piece of Elinor and Brandon fiction you did find. ^_^
