Not to be a wet blanket, but may I recommend that you start off with something a LOT closer for your first fest? You will not be competent enough on a bike by next year's Sturgis to make that trip. No, you will not, not even if you ride every damned day after getting your license. Plus, that's not a ride you want to do without a buddy along. You could trailer a bike and go, but please don't think about riding there by yourself.
