HMV was particularly calming. Even when it was completely packed with people, as it was today. It was wall-to-wall with frustrated, angry Christmas shoppers, no doubt infuriated by people like him, browsing, taking their time, meandering through the store as though it wasn’t, in fact, the end of the world.

Ok, so I read the second part first but now I am caught up and I love this! The easy way they fall into banter, the thought of Sam cooking for Gene (I get all kinds of quivery over Sam cooking), and then the nice moment where Gene trusts him enough to tell him about his family, with the genuine concern on Sam's face....I just love it. I laughed, rather snorted actually, out loud at the "as a bloody Christmas tree" line, and the slow realization that they were both gay, that was just wonderful. Yay for this fic, I really can't wait to see more!!
