Pleasant Surprises, and other sorts too

Mortimer's been reunited with his Miss Darkholme.

I saw Styphon's charming brother again.

Shopping was an adventure. Seeing Sasha impulse shopping is always a pleasant surprise. Fish are pretty.

I hope Mortimer likes everything.

I had another of those dreams again...

"You said it was your world."

Yeah, it's my world, but that doesn't make her mine.

At this point I would say she belongs to herself.

"That isn't what I meant. I meant you found the Raven from your world, as opposed to one of the other Ravens."

[chill_whispers]

"Miss Darkholme? How did the reunion go?"

"She is exactly the sort of woman I expected."

[chill_whispers]

"Oh? Then I regret not being there. How is he?"

[vicioussweetie]

She looks down, not answering that.

Hm, you know, seeing Sasha do anything impulse-driven would be interesting, I think. I don't know her that well but she seems so well-spoken that she gives the impression of thinking of everything ahead of time.

"She does, doesn't she?" She smiles faintly. "I guess it comes with her age and grace and nobility."

Those would be very good reasons for it. I can never be sure about how old someone is around the Nexus but I had a feeling she might be some kind of noble or prefect or something.

Ali looks very amused by this. "Just about everyone thinks that about her."

*an odd knocking comes from the Nexus door... it sounds a bit harder than it should, almost like wood on wood*

Ali answers after a few minutes, opening the door slowly and only partially.

*standing outside of the door is a human skeleton, dressed as a typical butler--drab black tuxedo that looks like nearly every other tuxedo you've ever seen, a silver platter held in it's hand, and so forth--there is a large beige card propped up on the platter, and a pink bow tied around the skeleton's neck*

She shrieks. There's no two ways about it. She wasn't expecting a skeleton.

She also slams the door shut again.
