Twice. Once in each direction, for each is more perfect than the last.

Think that can keep the three of you occupied while I try and take a nap?

I'm sure they're looking forward to it. Everybody needs a rock-n-roll auntie.

They really do!

But for now, quiet lullabies.

Congratulations, Ali. If there's anything I can help with, I'm only a word away. And I look forward to meeting the twins, when they're ready for people.

In three days, show up with chocolate ice cream and a sleeping pill.

Chocolate ice cream and a sleeping pill?

...any specifics about the pill?

Chocolate ice cream and a sleeping pill. Something mild, just enough to keep me down for a decent night's sleep. By the end of the next three days I should be both exhausted and able to have bottles in the fridge to keep the babies happy while I sleep.

Congratulations to all three of you!

You'll have to stay in the office for a little while. We don't want to expose the babies to too many germs while their immune systems are still developing.

No, we really don't. The office it is, and anyone who wants an appointment can book for January.

Congratulations, Mom! Hi, there, little guys, I'm your big brother, and in a few years you're gonna read this and get confused. Sorry.

Thanks darling.

Do you remember helping me decorate the nursery for them?

I remember making handprints with paint... I'm not sure if it was in the nursery.

It was. You didn't want to move into your "big-boy" room, so you decided to leave your mark on the nursery.
