"Oh, they're very sweet, and excellent cooks. And your friend here, does he like dogs?"

"He's quite content around them. Wait, cooks?"

"Oh yes. They'll stuff you silly, then pout when you don't want more. But if you scritch them behind the ears they'll forgive you. Just don't do it for too long, they might fall over when they try to do that leg-thumpy-thing, being bipedal and all."

Ali has turned and started to walk while she was talking, but expects he can keep up.
