Spider knocks, looking satisfied, on the door.

Ali answers, looking half-dead. She's pale and hasn't slept, and her hair's a mess; she's been crying, judging by the pink and puffy state of her eyes. And bundled up as she is in an oversized gold velvet bathrobe with her pink bunny slipeprs, she obviously wasn't expecting company.

Spider looks shocked, and instantly worried. "A-ali? Are you alright? Should I come back later? Can I do anything?"

"Spider..." she whispers, her voice hoarse. She runs a hand through her hair, stepping back so he can enter.

There was a knock at her door. Victor had a gift for Ali, as a thank-you for her wonderful company when they found the rings the other day.

There's an answer, after a few minutes. Ali doesn't look much better than when she let Spider in. She stared at Victor in some confusion.

"Don't you have a key?"

"I do, but I wanted t' knock first. I haven't been over f'r a while. A-are you okay?" She scanned her face, then swallowed.

She shakes her head, and doesn't bother brushing the hair out of her eyes afterwards.

Ali? *He doesn't bother to knock, but opens the door a little bit.* What's wrong?

Ali looks over at her husband, moving her ruined arm behind her. "Mortimer..."

[jumpyspringy]

*Ali being evasive is not a good sign.* What is it?

She looks down, then slowly brings her arm around where he can see it. And the lack of it.

Belial has once again surfaced in the Nexus-area, with the intention of visiting Ali. A black rose clutched in one hand, a gift. She came to a stop at her dear friend's door, her head tilting to the side at the sound coming from inside. She tapped a gloved knuckle against the door lightly.

Ali answers. She's brushed her hair and washed her face and her eyes aren't quite as pink and puffy anymore. Still, something's wrong.

She stares at Bel for a moment, then smiles, reaching out to pull Bel into a hug. Only one shoulder is grasped, though. "Bel! Where have you been?"

Belial smiled back kindly as if nothing had changed. "Oh, around." She said with a little grin, gently returning the embrace. She paused for a moment, something was wrong. She backed up a step and stared at the other red-head. "What has happened?" She asked in a concerned tone, a finger running lightly over the stem of her gift.

"I...got in a fight." She stepped back, folding her arms on her stomach.
