I’m several episodes behind in Supernatural. It wasn’t that the season was driving me batty... it’s just pretty much exactly what I expected would happen when they moved to Friday nights. I couldn’t catch it every week, and I fell out of habit of making myself catch it every week, and I haven’t felt inspired to pick it back up again ( Read more... )

supernatural ate my brain

This is amazing. I love this thing already. I hadn't even heard about it, but it's totally incredible.

I actually thought the reason that I enjoyed it is that it went back to a lot of the first season brotherly let's-just-kill-the-damn-monsters dynamic that went missing around the end of the third season. Also, they gave Jess an episode! A WHOLE EPISODE. About how she and Sam meet! :D I love this show like a kitten loves a ball of yarn.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that I'm a giant anime nerd, so the anime-ishness just slotted happily into my usual interests. (Hell, my response to the character design was mostly "Oh, well. Hi, Madhouse." That company's style is extremely distinctive)

I one of those people who enjoyed large parts of the later seasons, but I also disliked how disjointed the storytelling became. But yeahr - the anime is DEFINITELY a treat for anyone who misses the early SPN dynamic.

I LOVED THE JESS EPISODE. I watched it twice already, and I haven't even finished the series yet. :D

I know I've seen other things by Madhouse throughout the years... they did Trigun, I think.
