I'm honestly curious.

Why isn't there an anon meme where people can have anonymous discussion about the show, genres of fanfic, personal kinks and what-have-you, but where there's a lack of attacks on fans?

No, really. I keep hearing complaints that people like the anon meme - except for when people are assholes. So why isn't there an option for ( Read more... )

I read your main post and this one, and i'd be down for a purely discussion meme. Not trying to rain on anyone's parade here but I think that the BB post was a good idea in a bad place (if that makes sense), and maybe we can learn from everything that's happened in the past few months and use it toward something a little bit more...

respectful to all parties involved. That being said a com like this would need some heavy handed modding and i'm not sure just anyone would be up for it.

Ideas?

I've been thinking about this for WEEKS AND WEEKS myself, and your argument is exactly what I think of every time someone tries to defend that comm to me. See, because even if someone hangs out at the anonmeme and only responds to non-personal or non-assholish posts, it is still in some way supporting the assholish posts, IMO. But I also think that everyone has lax standards about what is "their business" online. I'm not sure this is possible, but I absolutely support your ideas and the sentiment behind them.
