Completely, utterly destroy it. The tourists that come in won't come in for a water park, and... laying off 80% of their workforce? Yeah. That's smart.
And they're counting on LOCALS to keep their fucking water park in business?
Not to butt in on the thread, but! Poor Aurora went from having an $800K tax cut from the park in previous years to a $20K cut in the last two to three years. So, they're not really going to notice it at all and all the highschool kids looking for summer jobs are just going to have to go elsewhere. From an economical standpoint, it's not really going to hurt them at all, it's been on the decline for YEARS. This sucks because that means Aurora isn't going to rally from a financial standing to keep the park open, it hasn't paid off for them recently and that's 400-600 acres of undeveloped land to use for something else. I just hate this whole situation.
I've been doing waaaaaaay too much research into this. :\ I CAN'T LET IT GO! I have a problem. >.
Well, I was reading a few articles and it seems like Cedar Fair WAS gung ho about keeping it open until the numbers slipped to just 700,000 people this year. It was something like three million people two years ago. :\ That's a big difference, even if you make the repairs, they weren't getting the revenue to justify them... I don't know. It's a big business debacle. I'm sure they didn't realize it would have gotten THAT bad
