(And it's a nice fic, beloved Odd. Go you! I do enjoy your Vice, even though I've never seen more than maybe 3 eps...)

Thanks! And I can fix the latter part of that statement. Just hold still....

What really gets to me is watching the later eps--where things happen, and even though Stan's still cracking wise and stuff, there are a few moments where you just go, oh wow, what he's thinking about right now is killer, and watching the other partners go about their business, and...and...yeah. You know what I mean. It's like taking small sips from the bottle of heartache. I love being able to watch the show now and see more layers of it.
The story, of course, is great. You are a fantastic writer, and this is so evocative and...um...haunting. Sorry, it had to be said.
And it's long-hair Larry, too, which fascinates me. heh. The whole story fascinates me. I love how you pack so much into your writing. Even when it's spare it speaks volumes.

Dude, I still cry every time I watch that S3 ep. There's an S5 ep where basically, all of Stan's compulsive alcoholism and gambling's come to light, and Crockett takes his hair over to Stan's house to try to talk to him about it. He says basically, we all love you and we're here for you, we're your partners. And at the word "partner", Stan loses it, just curls up in Crockett's lap and sobs, so apparently that's his trigger word. WHO KNEW?
Thanks very much for the kind words! I'm always excited when you like pieces. Much as I love Riptide, these boys will always be close to my heart.

"I can't hear you, I can't hear you!"
"Let me know when that works," Larry called from the living room.
"Will do, buddy." Stan called back, then glared in his partner's direction.
Spot on, spot on.
The lonely feel to the end, the parallels between Stan's fear of sex with Larry at first when he's alive and when he's dead... Larry's shirt... I always say it when you write Stan/Larry, but I love the domesticity of it all.

Domesticity is very much them.
I'm so glad you liked this!
