7th moon [voice/action]

...Has anyone else ever found a particular item in the shop, and thought that it must have been placed there to taunt you? Would the Malnosso even commit such a petty act? At least it should match the pansies...

[With that said, Cecil can be found at any point on the road between the item shop and house 32, bearing... a flower in a small vase?]

haha not funny, exploring the shops, flowers for house 32

[On her way to the item shop, Yuuka spots someone she had never seen before. She would have completely ignored the person too, had he not been holding a flower.]

My what a curious little flower you have there. I don't believe I have ever seen such a bloom before.

[Cecil looks up at the speaker, before staring at said flower somewhat wearily.]

This particular flower is one native to my world, though it is rather rare. I was rather surprised to see it in the shop.

So there are flowers not even I recognise. Ahah, I should try seeing if I could grow one of these foreign flowers in my time here.

[She notices that weary stare and feels somewhat annoyed.]

I would have thought you would look more upbeat! I mean, to find something from your own world, and a beautiful flower of all things~

It should be possible, as long as you find seeds. The soil might not be ideal, but perhaps the earth spirit could help with that.

[Her admonishment makes him sigh a little.]

These flowers normally have a certain power. To send us only one bloom, and one that does not function to boot, is a way of taunting the people of my world. I've little reason to be upbeat.

Earth spirit? Ahah, I think I would rather enjoy growing something under my own care and powers. Flowers are what I live for after all~

[She leans in to lightly caress the flower with a finger. Yes. She likes flowers. A lot.]

A certain power? And what would that be? I'd certainly like to know more about this rare bloom.

[Though his sob story must be touching to some people, it isn't to her. After all, that flower is much more important.]

Is that so? Is it merely something you enjoy, or is it your vocation?

[That's fine with him. Who would he be to stop a flower from receiving some love?]

These blooms can transmit sound, from one flower to the other. Their range easily spans an entire planet, though it seems they cannot transmit between worlds.

[Which is part of the reason it's so upsetting.]

It is a pleasurable past time which takes up a majority of my days, though I would not call it my vocation. Were I to garden and tend to my flowers for the sake of a career I doubt it would be as fun.

[She's never considered gardening as a job or something like that. She might think it over all the same later.]

I see, what a marvelous flower this is then! Tell me, as there is already one bloom here, if there were another could the two be used to communicate? It would be a shame to let this little one's talents go to waste~

[Plus it might make a use for that keepsake from your world, aside from being a table decoration, though that isn't her intention.]

Pasttimes do seem to lose their luster once they become work. At least there's no chance of that happening in this world, with its lack of currency.

[Except hunting monsters. That never gets old.]

In theory, yes, unless the Malnosso can also restrict a plant's power. However, this one is but a mere plucked bloom; I doubt it'll live long enough to see another's arrival.

Even so, I do not see much point in turning a métier into a job when it is already enjoyed as it is.

[She's never used money or anything like that before, so getting a job is strange enough. It'll just be more for her to mull over later on.]

Dear me, these Malnosso and their ignominy towards flowers. And you shouldn't doubt such things, with the proper care flowers can last a lifetime!

[She's really curious about this flower now... Plus she's been pretty bored since she got here.]

Perhaps I could ensure the bloom survives until another shows up. If not, I could always grow another with time~ I've never tried growing a plant from another world, I normally only work in sunflowers, ahaha~

If you can afford to do so without risking your livelihood, you undoubtedly have the right idea.

[Not that the imps he hunts help his livelihood very much, but still.]

You could keep it alive for so long? That's rather impressive. Such power over plants would be unheard of, at home, unless burning them counts. Is it commmon in yours?

[She smiles and nods. It's always nice being told your natural abilities are impressive, it's empowering.]

But of course~ [She'll cough and look away at the 'burning plants' comment. Just the mention of it alone is sickening.] Where I am from every other person seems to possess a unique power or skill of some sort. My days were always filled with excitement~

[And Cecil means every single word of it. Including the burning part.]

Every other person? Only Mysidia could match that, and their talents are not quite unique, though they are still rather impressive. Such a variety must make for interesting meetings and inventions.

Mysidia? I have never heard of such a being... But yes, there was never a dull day. Tending my gardens, fighting mindless youkai, perhaps having a battle with one of the more worthwhile residents of my world. I dare say there were few days I would find myself bored~

[Whilst Yuuka could go on about her battles and other more violent points of her life, that is not related to the fine specimen of a flower she's still oggling.]

Does this flower have a name?

It seems as though you could find something to do during even the most boring of days, in such an active world. Are there any other of its residents present in Luceti?

[What a shame. Cecil always enjoys learning about other worlds.]

It's called whisperweed. I never thought it looked like a weed, but perhaps the people of Damcyan felt differently at first.

I do not believe so, as I have seen none so far. If there is anyone here who I would know then perhaps they are merely hiding from my frightening power, ahaha~

[Should Cecil like to hear more, Yuuka would be more than happy to discuss her world, flowers and her distaste of worthless, pathetic humans over a cup of tea~]

Whisperweed? Such a unique name for such a unique flower. I could never class such beauty as a weed.

puppet_paladin July 24 2011, 01:34:27 UTC
I doubt anyone could hide very long in this world. Even searching the mountains should be easily feasible.

[Hey, his mom was one of them, and so is his wife!]

They call it a weed, yet they give it a place of honor in their gardens. They might merely like the alliteration.
