Wow. What a chilling commentary on the world we live in. Had it been written a few years ago, I would have sighed in relief and said to myself: "Thank God this is just a dystopian sci-fi!!!" These days, though... *shudder*

Thank you! Personally I believe that something like this probably couldn't really come about, although you never do know - I find myself watching commercials for Oculus and thinking about how creepy they are rather than about how cool the technology seems. Like, yeah, it does seem cool, but there's a commercial where these two guys are good buddies in the "Metaverse" and yet don't even know that they're living right next to each other. That just comes off as really weird to me rather than funny, and I'm hoping to explore those kinds of thoughts with my writing going forward. :)
