I could see several of the Samurai Shodown VI characters working for you...though I think I might be leaning the most towards a vote for Yoshitora Tokugawa overall. Yoshitora can be a bit of a slacker at times...but if he's working with someone and they share a goal, he'll put his all in the effort and be a supportive partner (he also likes exchanging ideas and discussing things with others too). He also fits the "mature-ish" side of the spectrum: he can be a little more immature and childish at times in his mannerisms, but when push comes to shove he's ultimately much more mature than he lets on and is always thinking very clearly about things. He can also be something of a follower at times too: Yoshitora is a capable leader when he puts his mind and resolve into the endeavor, but he doesn't necessarily like being one all the time...and he likes listening to the opinions of others and effecting strategies accordingly, so I think he'd get along well with you in that regard. He tends to be more optimistic in general, but with some

Natsu would love to have the same first impression of someone as you do (and given how she sometimes is considered intimidating by others in the cast despite being a really nice and encouraging person due to how tall and sports-centered she is...I don't think she would ever think that way of someone else at all). The tag moves in PJ: RS are ALWAYS flashy-but-silly and fun, so I don't think there'd be any problems there! XD Natsu likes teaming up with people who have similar goals to herself and who she likes or is on friendly terms with, and she doesn't have to see eye-to-eye with someone on everything so long as she can work well with them on a team setting (her and Shoma are ALWAYS at odds with one another because they're so opposite in terms of personalities...but they really do care a lot about one another and work excellently as a team still despite that). I think she'd want to stay friends with someone after the tournament ended too, given all of the friendships she makes with students from other schools in the game as well

This theme is always harder than the normal one, and when I don't know the games I'm always clueless on it, so sorry if this vote really fails, but after going through a lot of wikia pages and only seeing a couple sentences that fit here and there... I'll agree with Yoshitora Tokugawa. I wouldn't have thought of him at all judging by how the wikia just calls him a playboy, but judging by your sister's comment, he is more mature and considerate than the wikia lets on?
For the second... I'm too busy laughing at Nagare's and Hideo's character designs I considered Daigo, Akira, and Natsu, and while I'm tempted to go with Natsu, I honestly think I'd pick her on a standard rating application, so I'll go with Akira as I think she contrasts more. She seems like she'd be more of a follower, but she still will have her own opinions on things. She seems pretty mature and optimistic, and since she comes off as tough and intimidating at times when she's really the opposite most of the time, I think she might be understanding towards the whole

Since I know neither of the games in question I'm very sorry if this is off... *deep breath*
Samurai Shodown VI: I may have to agree with Yoshitora. He's a bit of a playboy - but that doesn't seem to be a downside here, and while I'm not really sure how fast his fighting style is it seems to strike me (from the names at least) as quick and energetic? He seems more outgoing, which might be a nice contrast since you identify as an introvert. He also strikes me as quick and capable, so no dragging you down, either!
Project Justice: Rival Schools: Uhn. I could see quite a few working, I think... but Akira is a good fit. I think there's enough of a personality mesh there (although I might worry a bit about communication at first, since it DOES say she's a bit silent) - but she can be both tough and commanding and docile and gentle - so it's a bit of a leader AND follower, which seems to work pretty well with your preferences. Given teh little I can see of her storyline, it does seem she's willing to put in lots of hard work as well so
