Hey guys. I know I've been dropping the ball on 100 things posting for the past few weeks, and I wanted to apologize to anyone who's been waiting eagerly for the next one (read: no one). Ugh, Korra. I admit I enjoyed the finale when I saw it; it was a fun ride, and it had a lot of great moments. But the more I thought about it and the more I read other people's criticisms, I just got pissed off, for all the reasons you mentioned and more. I mean, if you're going to make a rebellion intending to upend the status quo the antagonists of your story, you better have a good reason for it or else the whole story's gonna fall flat, and in this case there just....wasn't. And don't get me started about how Asami and Bolin got the shaft when IMHO they were the more interesting characters. Or how Korra somehow managed to be less developed at the end of the season than at the beginning. (I'll be a little bit fair about the whole Deux Ex Machina Ass Pull thing with Korra getting her bending back, because I've heard some good arguments that she was contemplating suicide at that moment. Standing on a cliff, camera shot of one of her tears falling, Aang implying she was at her "lowest point" -- yeah. It doesn't completely ( ... )

Sadly, Noatak/Tarrlok fic is proving difficult to find (and I doubt anyone shares my ridiculous proclivities, so you don't have to worry about that part :P). You might want to keep an eye on this thread; there's been one fic linked so far, but more might crop up.

I would respond to the part at the beginning of your comment but since I basically agree with all of it I think there would be no point. @____@

I desperately wanted to see Lin kick serious ass without her bending as well. I hope she and Korra have a srs bsns talk about being bending-less in season 2, which leads to Korra trying to not use bending for a whole day and she starts realizing how privileged benders are. Or something.

I hope so too, but I think that might be a little too much to ask from this show. :(

Nrgh. I really am sad that Legend of Korra is being so mishandled when I have so many ~*~feelings~*~ about Lin Bei Fong. I also feel like Avatar: The Last Airbender isn't nearly as flawless as people make it out to be and Legend of Korra is being unfairly slammed in a lot of ways, but...*sigh* that is probably because I am satisfied with my headcanons despite all of the LoK problems.
