Have a tire blow spectacularly while you are (as usual) driving too fast in a construction zone, said construction zone being where they narrow two wide lanes into one, braced on both sides with concrete barriers. So, while your new (to you) Volvo is going *shudder*shudder*pull-to-the-right*, the semi behind you isn't slowing down either

Yep. The only one worse was having the left front WHEEL come off while going 75 mph on I-5 during rush hour. I rode that one off onto the shoulder w/o significant damage to myself, the car or anyone else--I'm still not sure how. However, the guy who had just put new tires on my car w/o tightening the lugs got his butt fired.

Glad that you were okay with the blow-out - and yes, I loves me some AAA too :-) Great stuff and came in most handy when a friend of mine's car battery died in a parking lot. I was able to use my membership to help her out so that she could get the car jump-started (I need to put jumper cables in my car, come to think of it...)

Wow!!! I'm glad that you survived the experience with nothing worse than an adrenaline rush and the cost of new tires! Yay for the new tires. Yay for the Vesta unharmed. We like our Vesta with all the original parts. :-)
