Oh, damn, girl! You nailed it (I had no doubts you would). I don't have to tell you I agree with everything you've said and then some. The sexual chemistry between these two is so strong I sometimes have a hard time believing some scenes were ever allowed to air.

I'm going to have to pause my Castle marathon to watch an episode or two of Regina and Emma breathe heavily while having eye!sex.

Thank you for a wonderful read! I don't really watch Once Upon A Time, because I've just never quite clicked with the show, but I follow their storyline via fandom osmosis/tumblr/fanfiction/vids/all that fun stuff, and am rooting for them like mad. You're absolutely right that if this was a heterosexual pairing, there wouldn't be a doubt in the world about their otp status. Because good lord. I hope that the upcoming season allows them as much (or, ya know, more -- more would be awesome) interaction as the first. And maybe it will just go the way of Xena and have the subtext get textier and textier as the seasons go on. FINGERS CROSSED! ♥

That double standard is what really annoys me the most: Emma and Regina's relationship so far has all the typical couple-y chilchés, but because Emma's a girl, it'll never be canon. What I'm hoping for is exactly the type of thing Xena did so well; a build up of subtext until, in the last episodes, they finally, officially, make it canon.

Oh, and the "forbidden fruit" line? I snorted coffee up my nose when I first heard it.
