This? Is gorgeous and amazing and so completely awesome. I loved the ranch - the horses especially, and the ranch hands getting their asses kicked by Emily. The premise behind the AU worked really well, and the whole thing was just excellent: action and romance and adorableness.
Thank you for brightening up my boring Saturday!

If it wasn't for my fear of horses I'm pretty sure I would be planning a ranch holiday right about now! Just what I needed to brighten my Saturday evening up! I'm glad I pestered you about it, it was indeed everything I hoped for! Now don't take a year on the next one ;)

There's an idea for another one already in my head, but we'll see if I ever actually get around writing it. I have essays coming again, so I probably will. *g*

I loved how you drew both characters with such care, exploring their emotions and motivations in such a good pace. I was so enchanted by Emily's characterisation because she seemed so different and yet so Emily. I was a bit skeptical about the whole AU thing, but I must say Emily as a cowgirl worked really well, and your portrayal of her as strong, steady, a little troubled and unbelievably warm and sincere was simply perfect. The same goes for the beautiful build-up of how JJ negotiates her feelings for Emily and everything else, especially her life as it is or as she thinks it has to be.
You always create such vivid stories that capture the reader from the beginning until the end, with not one paragraph that is redundant. I could picture all of this so easily, it was like a film before my inner eye.
Many favourite bits and lines, but I have to point out this one:
"Show me one," JJ asked ( ... )

I was extremely nervous about the AU thing, as well as the whole stereotypical ranch setting, so if you think the whole thing actually worked, brilliant! *g*
Thank you so much for the kind words!
