Glinda was busy working on how she wanted to grade the final speeches, and had handwavily sent out a notice to the public speaking students letting them know that she would be in her office today and Wednesday this week, should they want help or feedback in regards to their speech. She was in the middle of her third cup of tea already, and was ( Read more... )

There actually was a noise out the window, as one of her students had been flying around and noticed she was back. He paused not ten feet from the window in a bit of relieved shock.

She turned, just then, saw Liir... and promptly fell out of her chair in surprise. As soon as she had her feet back under her, she was opening the window.

"I swear to the Unnamed God anyone with the name Thropp is out to shorten my life," she said, sounding far more relieved than angry. "Were you planning on visiting me or just decided to scare me?"

"...actually, I was on the way back from class. I thought a flight might clear my head, but I'm glad to see you," he said as he drifted in through the window. Thankfully, he compacted well enough it wasn't a problem.

He was on the ground soon enough.

"Welcome back, Lady Glinda," he said mildly.

"Are you... is that... what I think it is?" she said, gesturing to the staff in his hand. "Since when can you fly?"

Eventually, all the little Risk pieces had been left in a pile of plastic carnage (aka swept dramatically off the table in a very moving ending to such an epic battle), and Minsc was bored for a second, and then he thought of something he could go do.

And if she wasn't in, well, then, he was just going for a walk. It appeared as though he didn't have to depend on the alternative excuse, though.

"Lady Glinda!" he boomed. "I heard on the radio that you were back!"

"Mister Minsc," Glinda replied, as soon as she'd collected herself again. "I'm glad to hear that no one has seen fit to teach those squirrels manners over the weekend. Did Miss Mars remember to give you your batch of raspberry bars?"

"Insert vague answer here because it didn't happen ICly, but I think the mun was caught up in stuff," said Minsc brightly, "and of course you can't teach them manners, they're drunken pirate squirrels! But they can't be so bad if they helped me know you got back safely! How was it? Did you have to do anything thwapping?"

She laughed a little at that. "No, no thwapping was required. The Emperor was too busy raving against little old ladies who have their own ways and traditions that rub him the wrong way. Although it gave me the opportunity to catch up with some classmates, so it wasn't all bad."
