So while I horribly missed finishing my Mebi Gaiden fanart on the release day of Stage 1, I'm hoping I'll at least be able to make Stage 2. ...before all my inconsistencies with height and hair become a little too much to bear. IT'S LOOKING GOOD AT LEAST! I think. (I haven't even compiled it yet -- whoops ( Read more... )

*snerk* Yeah, I've spent the past couple of days poking around hoping for a rip. (Since, y'know, waiting until Monday evening isn't really something I want to have to do.)

*wishing she were set up to work from home, since 12 hours from now she'd have the DVD in her hot little hands and would be watching it.* Ah well, I guess tomorrow evening will have to be soon enough. ^___^

I kinda sniffled a little bit there.

I yelled at him for that. Though given the whole long "nothing bad will ever happen and I can get through anything no matter what as long as I have this" speech, I guess he kind of had to toss it, just to up teh drama over the "oh noes, he got squished!"

(I kinda like the squishing part. I keep waiting for someone to get stepped on. (Which is probably why it shows up in one of my fics, even though it's kinda mean

"Ryuu-taichou" amuses me (I wanna see the Nagoya show where George makes fun of him for it), but I'm kinda glad they went with "Aihara-taichou".

As far as I can tell, at the moment the armor is just up and walking around on its own.

On not flinching on flying around... The indication from previous episodes is that all of them had to go through testing and simulations, so I figure that they're used to it from there. (Marina at least is pretty used to adrenaline tripping.)

Ryuu, being the loving captain he is...... promptly messes with the new kid's head. I mean, was that ( ... )

So the first thing Ryuu does is throw Kanata in GunWinger and hope that's as good as training? Haha, excellent.

... promptly messes with the new kid's head. I mean, was that really so much fun, dude, that you felt the need to give some other poor kid a complex?
He was only carrying on the captain legacy! Serizawa did it to him, only right that he passes it on to the new guy. I very much liked the whole "take care of GUYS" thing - exactly what Serizawa said to him. The little things :)

Ryuu-taichou doing the "METEOR ban, lifted!" made my brain splotz. I forgot he'd end up with that kind of authority.
It caught me off guard but I actually really liked it! There was always some kind of minor delay when the team had to ask Sakomizu for permission, but Ryuu being there actually fighting alongside them makes it immediate.

Yup, there is. It's pretty long, too. Armored Darkness was the last thing filmed ( ... )

It starts off innocent enough: some clips of the final, I guess to set the scene.

Ultraman movies (and the OVA continuations) always put those recaps in. They seem to assume a viewer doesn't know anything about the original series, and while those clips won't completely familiarize people who have never seen the series, I suppose they are better than nothing.

Also, I might link to your post, if that's okay, since it is a very complete write-up, and I don't think I'll write mine nearly as detailed, when and if I get around to it.

EDIT:

I've decided not to link, so no reply necessary. And I forgot to say thanks for sharing a detailed post in the first place.

I'm a newbie to the Ultra franchise, Mebius being my only real exposure (though I did see Nexus and Seven X), so I was unaware the recaps are normal! It's a pretty safe bet, if not just to remind the viewers what all had happened. It has been over a year, after all.

You're very welcome. :) It was my pleasure to finally do something beyond senselessly fangirling.

I enjoy reading your fangirling, too, senseless or otherwise. :) I just don't know how to write (or respond to) one myself, since I suspect the way I use language is too formal.

Ah, I would recommend stuff to you, but it seems our tastes are not that much the same. (Except for those three Ultra series you mentioned. ^^;) Besides, lack of subtitles and lack of video files in general probably don't help much. I don't know, perhaps the new movie might spark some interests in the older series. Or perhaps not.

(Yeah, selfishly, I kind of want to see more people talk about other Ultra series. ^^; I mean, I love Mebius, and will happily take in all discussions of the series, but sometimes, more varieties are nice, too.)

Fangirling is actually a lot of fun, you should try it some time, regardless of your formalness. xD;; I'm just glad to hear my babbling isn't completely annoying.

It's really the lack of subtitles that turn me away, otherwise I'd be all over the older Ultra series, especially the original and Seven. :( I'm really not a fan of raw-watching.
