It's a port, but of course for the DS they'll be adding a second screen menu (it's inevitable that it'll be a menu). The official press release also states that there will be a new dungeon, which may or may not be the one that was taken out right before the original release :O

Hello there! :D;; Yeah sorry my journal covers pretty obscure things, haha.

Not surprised people are bitching about the port - people will bitch about anything and everything. If someone were to ask me seriously, I'd answer that I'm kind of disappointed that it's just a port... but then again, they're giving the game attention enough to port it (and not just release it on the Virtual Console!), which in some fan's terms, means there's a chance for a new sequel or something (Chrono Break/Brake anyone?)
