Well done for finishing the race and motivating yourself!

I'm also quite amused that half a world away and in a completely different sport, we still use the same terminology and abbreviations for DNF, DNS, and DFL.

I'm curious, though - I'm guessing you're talking about 50-60F in terms of temperature? What surprises me is the description of that as hot, because I did the conversion to Celsius and that sounds way cold to me!

Well, it was supposed to be in the upper 50s...but it started at MAYBE 58 and quickly went up. I think the high for the day was in the mid-70s. There was no ocean breeze and no shade on the course. And up until a day or so before, we'd had a cold snap and been having highs in the mid-40s, so I was totally unaccustomed and unacclimated to it. Upper 40s to low 50s is about the highest I'm totally comfortable running in most of the year.

It's funny how the body adapts to where you live, I guess! Mid-70s are like the lowest possible temperature you get in my country, so for me that would be cool weather for running. :)
