Conrad waited already in the lobby. He was dressed in a light jacket, a white shirt and dark pants. He had his sword at his right side this time. His sword hand was bandaged and hung lifeless down against his body.
He turned around as he heard somebody approaching. His face lighted up with a smile and an admiring look in his eyes. He walked towards her and took her hand with his left hand, to give her a kiss on the hand. "You look lovely today."
He felt relieved that he hadn´t hurt her badly. His guilty feeling gave him a sleepiness night already,he worried that he had punched her too hard.
Lulu smiled, laughing softly as he kissed her hand, but not arguing with the gesture. His punch may have knocked her out, but it wouldn't take her as long to recover from as the bruised ribs after her rumble with Tony Chopper had. She had to admire Conrad's gallantry--but she also had to admire the fact that he had what it took to get through a...difficult situation.
"Thank you," she replied, "You're looking well also." She reached for his opposite shoulder, running her fingers down his arm until she met his injured hand--a soft glow emanating from her fingers as she conjured a variation of her fira spell, crafting the subtle nuances to draw the cold out and to warm, rather than to burn.
She shivered slightly as she reabsorbed the killing frost, smiling up at him as she watched his reaction. "Better?"
The different would be that bruised ribs were easier to cover than a black eye.
Conrad was pleasantly surprised that Lulu had been such a great opponent. Even their few meetings didn´t hold her back to give her best in the tournament. That was what a good sportsmanship was made off.
The touch came a bit unexpected, he tried to keep from tensing up. It was his sword arm after all and he was hurt. It was a trained reflex for a soldier to protect their wounded side.
First he felt nothing but then he felt her magic working at the counter spell. It was nearly an intimate thing for him to get touched like that. he felt the same when Gisela was healing his wounds and there was the same strange tickling sensation.
As a reaction of the spell Lulu could only see that he dropped his eyes a bit. The warmness of the foreign magic felt soft, a near tranquil quality to it.
The spell was completed, but Lulu let her hand linger a moment before falling to her side. Her eyelids fell and rose in a slow, almost meditative blink as she reacclimated herself. He ribs were still a bit sore, but not enough to hinder her breathing or mobility.
She'd heard about mages who healed by taking the sickness and injury upon themselves--and then dispelling it. Black healers, who could also kill by the same method. Some cultures would shy away from such craft, but from where she stood, she would have staked her soul that as long as it was used out of pure intentions--used for good and not ill--there was little difference between a black mage or a white. Even a white healer like Lady Yuna could deal incredible devastation with "Holy" magic.
Lulu smiled. She was greatful that she had been granted the ability to undo the damage she had done. Not everyone had that chance. She said so. "It's kind of nice, not having to fight to the death, this time around."
"Yes, and you tell it so nicely," Lulu said, accepting the spoon, and smiling as she watched Conrad point out his favorite flavor. She took a small bite--careful not to give herself an ice cream headache like she'd done when she was younger, the first time she'd tasted the sweet treat--letting the confection melt in her mouth.
"Mmm...I'll bet Rikku would like this flavor," she said, thinking of Lady Yuna's cousin, and the youngest of the guardians in their entourage back home. "It's...different than what I'm used to...but good."
Conrad took a sample himself and smiled. That was exactly the flavor what he remembered. He should take Yozak there to get some ice cream. Conrad guessed that the redhead would like these sweets. His friend seemed to be rather interested in all food or things from Earth. At least Italian food was Yozak´s thing.
Lulu was thoughtful a moment as she considered this, her spoon hovering over the scoop of pale yellow. "I suppose I'm rather nostalgic for plain vanilla," she said, "Or pineapple. Since those are the flavors I remember tasting as a girl, the first time we went to Luca for a blitz-ball game."
She laughed. "Wakka and Chappu were so excited to see a professional game in a fancy arena. Me, I spent the whole time brainstorming about how to make ice cream at home, with cream and sugar and a novice blizzard spell."

He could understand the ice cream thing. He had thought about that too.
He scooped up a green colored ice cream. It tasted a bit funny but still good.
