Yozak came out of his bedroom with a rather disgruntled look on his face, brushing down the coat he had borrowed from Conrad with his hands. It had been a very long time since he'd worn a uniform, or anything formal (that didn't have ruffles and a skirt), so he looked rather ill-at-ease in the jacket and trousers. "Only you could talk me into this," he grumbled, "I swear. Now." He set his hands on his hips and faced Conrad squarely. "What is this about? If it were a date, you would have sent me elsewhere. So..."

Conrad showed a pleased smile at the neat appearance of his friend, ignoring the irritated look Yozak gave him. "You look handsome in those formal clothing. I have nearly forgotten how you look with a proper uniform," came the soft reply.

The redhead was really a catch to the eyes. "Maybe I just want you there as a chaperon?" He walked over and adjusted the collar at Yozak´s uniform. "She is a real lady and to meet a man in his champers, alone, is not proper."

Doing his best not to fidget, Yozak stood still while Conrad fixed his collar, glancing away for a moment. "Yeah, yeah," he said to the compliment, even though some part of him inside was definitely pleased. "Chaperon, huh? That's a good one, Conrad. I should use that one sometime. Well. I only spoke with the lovely Miss Lulu over the computer-thingy..." He waved idly toward the desk in the main room. "...so I didn't gather how much of a proper lady she was."

Conrad stepped away from his friend as he was finished, it looked perfect now. "I think you will like her. She has a subtle humor and she is a pleasing conversation partner."

He moved back to the prepared table, "When was the last time we had tea and cake together, Yozak?"

Had Lulu overheard Conrad's suggestion that the two of them might need a chaperone, she would probably have laughed out loud, and pointed out that not only had she already been to his chambers on the way to brunch the other day but that she usually was the chaperone.

Fortunately, that would not be a concern, as she would miss that portion of their conversation, knocking on the door a short while later and waiting graciously to be shown in.

*smirk* let´s make Yozak jealous...... guardian_conrad March 30 2009, 20:20:22 UTC
Conrad opened the door with a charming smile on his lips. "Lady Lulu, it´s a pleasure to invite you in our humble home. Please, come in and feel at home." Conrad moved to the side and motioned her to step into the room. "This gentleman over there is my roommate and old friend, Yozak."

"Lord Conrad," Lulu replied, returning the smile with ease as she swept into the room with full skirts trailed behind her.

The beaded ends of her long baids chimed softly as she made the the traditional Yevonite bow, arms swept wide and hands folded almost in prayer before her, as she dipped into the curtsy--careful of her her decoletee neckline but not about to be outdone by Conrad's formalities.

"A pleasure to meet you in person, Sir Yozak," she added, "Thank you both for inviting me."

Yozak hopped up out of the chair and bowed as best he could. He could act noble, at least. "Miss Lulu. A pleasure to meet you, at last. It's been a while since we spoke."

Lulu smiled, and she couldn't help laughing a bit as the two men taunted each other. The really were like a couple of brothers she used to know. She was pleased to notice it didn't hurt to remember that one of those brothers had gone on to the next life. They'd had some good times. And Wakka was still like a brother to her.

"Now, now," she quipped, "Whoever said seeing you would be such a bad thing, Yozak?" She was enjoying the pretended scandal of their banter far too much. She'd have to be careful not to let it go too far and bruise anyone's toes. Or their feelings. They seemed to be genuinely good fellows.

"Ahh~ it's good to know someone appreciates me," Yozak teased, beaming for Lulu. "As long as you still say such nice things when I'm not borrowing Weller's nice coat." He tugged at the collar; his slight discomfort with it had nothing to do with the fit, for it actually fit just fine. But, in the end, it still wasn't his - he was still playing dress-up.

"Well, work is one thing, but if you really want to see more of me, all you have to do is ask. I am my own man, you know." Yozak lifted his tea cup to sip, but he was all out of tea, so he set it aside instead.

Conrad noticed that he had forgotten to give Yozak more tea. He corrected his mistake in an instant. Every time Yozak was saying something like that and twitched around as if he felt uncomfortable in those clothing Conrad got the feeling he had wronged his friend somehow.

He didn´t show his doubts though. "Ah, don´t mind our bantering, Lulu. Yozak is really on vacation and I´m not his superior."

"I don't mind," Lulu answered, "It's not the first time I've taken up with a couple of brothers-in-arms. And you don't have to worry about dressing up for me either. I'm from the islands, remember? Even if we are famous for our textiles, most our boys--and girls--live in their bathing suits."
