Cloud stepped into the training hall, battle gear on, cloak, and large sword attached to his back. His boots were thuds on the ground but that was the only noise that emanated from him as he made his way inside. He saw Yozak walking and stretching, in light clothes and minimal gear.
"Hm," He grunted quietly. His voice as soft as ever. "Is that all you wear to training?"
Yozak paused in mid-stretch with one arm over his head. "It's all I wear to fight, most days," he chuckled, his eyes sweeping over Cloud's figure to gauge his own armaments. "I haven't worn full armor in twenty years."
He turned to face the younger man and set his hands on his hips. "Don't worry, I can more than handle myself. Training is training, there's no shame in yielding if it gets too rough. Eh?"
Yozak's eyes traveled to the huge sword slung over Cloud's back. "Well, well. Now we get to finally see what a weapon like yours can do. This is going to be interesting."
He drew his own sword, the rather simple hand-and-a-half with a narrow blade that he wore and used in service to the Maou. It looked rather like a toothpick compared to the buster sword, and Yozak handled it lightly as if to emphasize the difference. "Aye~. Interesting indeed."
Toph is ready to RUMBLElayerofdirtJune 15 2009, 17:15:22 UTC
Toph made her way to the training hall, wearing her usual outfit that she wore and being completely barefoot. She could never see properly with shoes on, and they tended to get in the way of the mud that would create such a wonderful sensation between the earthbender's toes.
She could already feel that her sparring partner had already arrived. It felt like he was warming up his muscles. Instead of a normal greeting that most people would come in with, Toph picked up a small pebble and sent it flying towards the back of Yozak's head. "Are you ready?"
The pebble got lost in Yozak's shock of thick red hair, but he still felt something brush the back of his head and turned quickly to see what it was. "Ohh there you are," he teased, starting to smirk. "And here I thought maybe you were busy having a second breakfast or something."
He set his hands on his hips and sized Toph up as an opponent, now, rather than just another acquaintance. He had been wondering just how good her senses were, since he knew nothing of her bending and only had observed that, while blind, she seemed uncannily aware of everything. "I suppose the only question is, do you want to take on my sword or my bare hands?"
Toph laughed. She didn't know anyone, other than maybe that Tai Lee girl, who could get close to her without anything but their bare hands.
"I'm pretty sure you might want to use a sword." Toph might not have a weapon like that, but the entire world was her weapon. If there was rock or metal around, she could take care of herself.
The earthbender walked to the middle of the practice area and stood in her classic stance. "Are we just gonna stand here, or are we gonna spar?"
"All right, then," Yozak said brightly, drawing his blade. "If you insist. I'm curious, though. Are you hiding something special up those..." He almost said "sleeves," but Toph's were quite short and open. Instead, Yozak just laughed it off and tapped the tip of his sword on the ground in preparation.
Dammit, I need to pay more attentionkiller_legguardJune 16 2009, 10:18:44 UTC
She hadn't really forgotten, not at all, though she was running a bit late much to her dismay. She had misjudged the amount of time it would take her to finish her warm-ups, added to the fact that she had breakfast (There was no use skipping a meal, no matter what the reason! Storing energy is important.) and did some more morning exercises, she had lost track of time almost immediately. Skidding to a halt in front of the training hall, Wakaba looked in awe through the open doors, unused to seeing such a large space. Even the one in the castle wasn't this big.
Stepping into the hall, she looked around for her spar partner, eager to find out his battle style. She recalled idly that he mentioned something about being a swordsman, and wondered if he was just like the knights or the mercenaries when he fought. The thought made her adrenaline rush, and she hoped that the challenge he'd provide would help her slowly reach her goal.
Yozak turned at the sound of a voice and smiled coolly. "Ahh~ Wakaba, I take it? A pleasure to meet you face to face." He folded his thick arms over his chest and drew himself up to his full height, waiting patiently in the center of the great hall. "Don't worry. I was just taking the extra time to make sure I was good and warmed up. Wouldn't want to strain a muscle, now."
"Nice to meet you too, sir Yozak." she said cheerfully, bounding over to him immediately and bowing. After all, if you were going to get into a battle, it was always best to pay respect to your opponent. Traditional as it may seem, Wakaba wasn't the type to just hurry into a battle without manners, no matter how excited she is.
Besides, he was doing her a favor by sparring with her, since it would help with her training.
"Please don't hold back." she said, confident in her ability to be able to match up to him, or at least, stand her ground. She could tell, by just looking at him, that he was strong. This was a great opportunity!
Nodding, Yozak took a step or two back and drew his sword. He was fresh and ready this time, and gave the sword a little twirl at the end of his wrist in excitement. "We go until one of us chooses to yield, then? Wouldn't want to ruin anyone's ability to sign up for the next fight by getting hurt, eh?"
He squared his shoulders, bringing the blade up in the stance favored by armed soldiers - little finesse, much strength.

Should he remove some of his stuff then? He knew it wasn't a real battle, but his fighting style was rather... unique.
