That's it! Fuck the iron!

After last night, I'm not even going to take the iron today. Fuck it! I'm not taking it until tomorrow when I can talk to a nurse. I woke up this morning in so much pain that it was ridiculous!

You know what, at this point it isn't worth it. They put me on it to help get my hemoglobin up and help get my color and energy back.

When you have a baby they give you iron pills for a week or two after the birth. After my first child I took the pill they gave me (after asking what it was) and, well, after everything else that had happened down there the effects of the iron pill didn't do anything nice for me. I didn't take another one. After giving birth to my second (nearly 9 lb) son I said no thank you right up front to the iron pills. Evil they are. Spinach and steak....

I'm on two pills a day (which I'm very not taking at the same time). One is ferrous sulfate, which I've been on for about a year with little trouble. I usually take that right at bed time with a vitamin C. Now they also have me on ferrex forte once a day. When I had it in the hospital, it didn't do anything to me. Now it hurts like hell when I take it. No thanks.

Usually, when I'm not having a flare up, I can take the ferrous sulfate no problem. But right now, it's being shoved on me and doing more harm than good. It's not fun.
