OUAT Thoughts

1. My current theory is that Henry’s father is Hook. I’m not sure on the exact rules of fairy tale characters existing outside of Storybrooke, but I don’t want to believe that Bae is the father and we already have a lot of new and returning characters so I’m hoping it is someone already announced. My second pick is Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk.

Why don't you want Bae to be Henry's father?

It would be funny, yet odd, to hear Gold doing the whole "Hee!" thing.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I would *love* the whole aspect of seeing Emma realize her son's grandfather is Rumplestiltskin! But her comments about Henry's father make it sound like he was not a nice person, and I just have a hard time thinking of Bae that way. I mean, I know that there are misunderstandings and misdirections, but I've been believing Emma's assessment that the father was "no hero" and I want Bae to have grown up to be, well, noble, for want of a better word.

Right! I'd completely forgotten what Emma said about Henry's father. That makes perfect sense.

1. Hmm. I hadn't thought about Hook as the father. We'll have to see if he is contained within Storybrooke or not since I think it would have to be someone from outside. Personally, I'm okay with Bae going through a difficult period after he came here and having him meet Emma during that period. From what she says it was likely a very short relationship (with whomever is the father) which ended before she even knew she was pregnant. Just like Emma he could be a good person having a bad time

1. I don't know why Emma's words/attitude struck me so strongly as I'm usually willing to give fictional characters the benifit of the doubt! Especially when we don't even really know Emma's half of the story, much less the father's. If indeed Bae is Henry's father, I hope that the writers do have him being "a good person having a bad time" or that Emma's current perception of him is the result of a misunderstanding.

2. Where is your sense of curiousity?! :):) I think Peter Pan is my favorite current guess, though I *loved* the theory I saw that he was the boy from "Godfather Death." Alas, I fear that fairy tale is a little too obscure for this show!

6. Oh, I don't think magic is loose in world at large (oh goodness I hope not--I love Storybrooke too much to have a bunch of episodes set elsewhere in the "real" world.) I just meant I'm not sure how my two favorite "bad guys" are going to keep their animosity to a war of words and chess game manipulations as opposed to a war of fireballs and dragons...

So glad the wait for season two is almost over! :)

2. My first thought was that Dr. Whale was Monstro, but that just seems too obvious at this point, especially in a series where the writers like to throw twists and turns at us every week. I do hope he's just a rake too. We've got enough villians to sink our teeth into as it is!

4. I AM SO HAPPY THEY'RE CANON. <3 Haha Just had to flail some! Completely agree with you. I'm used to shipping couples that just seem to never happen, or, if they do, it's the merest hint or it's in the series finale. So, this one's a source of nervousness. I hope they don't take over the Snow/Charming drama. I enjoyed Snow/Charming, but MM/David just about killed that for me. Too much angst! We need more of a mix. I think Belle will bring out his better side, but perhaps we might also be surprised that she's not entirely a sweetie pie herself. She's going to be able to hold her own with Rumple I think

2. I'm a huge fan of good villians, but I think you are right--we have enough great "bad guys" on the show (and coming to the show) to enjoy as it is!

4. How does canon shipping even work? ;) I have a whole new fandom dynamic to learn :) I think that my last canon couple was Phineas Nigellus/Ursula Nigellus...

I do hope/expect that Belle will hold her own against her sweetheart. Fingers crossed that the showrunners find a different sort of angst/drama for this couple as opposed to the MM/David slow motion car crash.

I'm still here, but I seem to be stuck in "reading" mode these days! I am trying to put together a recap of my favorite books from 2012, so hopefully I will have something to say soon :)
