I am currently reading George Orwell's 'Homage to catalonia' and Saul Alinskys 'Rules for Radicals', both books with heavy anarchist/radical political content. So;
1)Boo-yeah!
2)I haven't read it in a few years, but from what I recall 'The Great Gatsby' isn't 'wealth glorifying' in the least. As I recall, it exposes the 'american dream' and materialism as being vain, emotionally unsatisfying, and no real means to an end(except suicide, if I remember right). I could be wrong though, like I said it's been a while.
3)I realize you we're making a joke but let it be known that I'm down for the class struggle, and I will have none of these bourgeois accusations!!!
plus, realistically, no one gives a shit about anarchism or radical politics! Even my friends think I'm batshit! It would be impossible to start an anarcho-book club! I have seriously considered trying, though.
i may not apear to be into anarchism, but were all susceptible to an illusion now and then. anyway i think of you more as a mushroom or tree bark then batshit.
so i have a 'simplified edition' of 'the great gatsby', just read the intro and i think it might be for a middle schooler. i have no idea how it landed in my book collection, but im going to start it.

Nah but seriously though, I'd be sooo down with this if I wasn't already trying to read like 4950 books. 4950!
