MOD POST - new rule about finale spoilers
Given the recent preemptions, etc. that a lot of viewers have been dealing with in various markets, a new rule is in place - at least for the next two weeks.
ALL POSTS THAT CONTAIN SPECIFIC SPOILERS FOR THE FINALE OUTSIDE OF THE LJ-CUT/LINK (including LJ icons) WILL BE DELETED FOR THE WEEK FOLLOWING THE FINALE AIRDATE. (Tuesday, May 9th at 9pm EST through Wednesday, May 17th at 12:01am EST)
Here's a general list of what is and is not acceptable:
(no ACTUAL spoilers or even legit spec - to my knowledge - in the following, just what I think are random examples)
OKAY
-Set post 222.
-Spoils for the the person behind the bus crash.
-Spoils through 222, diverges from canon pre-cliffhanger.
-Spoils for 222, diverges from canon ( at this point detailed behind the cut ) [i.e. USE AN LJ-CUT if you want to be specific)
NOT OKAY
-AN: Wow, can you guys believe that Veronica was behind the bus crash?! How twisted was that?
-Spoils for the man [or woman, or boy, or girl, or teen, or ... whatever] behind the bus crash. (seriously, NO clues are allowed, people)
-Spoils 222, centering on the Wallace/Veronica makeout session.
-Logan and Veronica have sex in the alpaca pen, where the finale ends.
-OMG! I was SO SO SO [insert adjective here: happy, sad, surprised, upset - you name it, we don't want to see it ... put it behind a cut or in your end-of-fic AN]
-Kinda spoils for the finale [either it does or it doesn't ... vague crap like this will get your post deleted]
-"No spoilers really" is generally okay, but if we find finale spoilers, your post will be deleted as we don't have time to wait for you to edit your post when people could be spoiled without realizing it. Again, need clarification? Email us.
-et cetera, et cetera, et cetera
OUTLAWED ICONAGE NOTES:
Everyone on LJ is given *AT LEAST* 6 icon spaces. There is no way that you should have to fill all 6 with 2x22 icons. The outlawed icons also include text-based icons that are about quotes from the episode or even of the "Backup set off the bomb!" nature (Even if it literally says THAT it is not okay. Because foilers? Also not cool.) There have been some HQ images from the finale that have been released (and even published in EW and stuff) - iconage based off of THOSE scenes are *also* not okay.
If you have questions or need any clarification, please feel free to reply to this post or send an email to herowlness [[AT]] LJ. Also, if you find a troublesome post during that time window, please send an email to sarah_p [[AT]] LJ, as this is where my excellent fellow mods come into play :)
During the summer hiatus, we may consider putting this rule into effect on a more long-term basis - i.e. for every episode of S3 and beyond. But that's an issue for another post, but if you have an opinion on the matter, feel free to speak up.
I know that most of you guys are great about not including specific spoilers in your posts, and we mods really appreciate that. But, at the same time, we want to avoid ruining the major revelations for people, so if everyone could be careful in their header info, it would be appreciated.
As a final note, those who have posted spoilery iconage recently have 24 hours (until 12am EST) to change their icon, or else their posts will be deleted.
