I learned of it anecdotally, from a fellow fic writer who read a story inspired by another story, on FFN. The idea for who is at the door at the end of Season One belongs to booster17, from his fic, Vengeance is a Cold Thing -- and many thanks to him for graciously granting me permission to borrow his idea.
