bravo - an amazing take on the 456 and the government machinations to destroy them using Jack, which made much more sense - excellent use of characters from COE to produce a far superior story, worthy of Torchwood and the characters we love - thank you! I have saved the whole story to read again later :-)
Thank you so much! Watching CoE, I really missed the Torchwood that I used to know, and I wanted to recapture that feeling in a way that made CoE irrelevant - for me, anyway - going forward. I felt that I was taking a bit of a chance actually re-writing it, so it means a lot to me that you enjoyed what I attempted to do.
This is one of the most amazing stories I've ever read! It's what COE *should* have been. I was so blown away and there were so many things I wanted to comment on, that I've written a review at my LJ, here:
I hope you don't mind. If you do I will delete it. And you're welcome to repost my review or the link here at your journal if you want, too. This story will stay in my mind for a long time. It made up for COE, just a little bit, and cheered me up.
Oh, wow, thank you! For all your comments and for your awesome review - I definitely don't mind! You've made my day, month - I'm just *so* glad you enjoyed it. Re-working CoE, original characters, the strong Janto slant - it all felt a bit risky, to be honest, but I just couldn't live with CoE, for so many reasons. We'd waited so long and to be handed a completely different story than what I'd hoped for - well, that's what fic is for, right?
Anyway, you're just lovely and thanks again for reading and for sharing your thoughts on the story and the fabulous review. I really appreciate it, so very much.
This was just stunning! This was the story RTD should have told. Your characterisations were wonderfully intricate and so very spot on, the story was intriguing and lacked the house sized plot holes that the unfortunate canon version had. Your new characters were interesting and had so much personality (I think I adore Mac), and your emotional scenes packed one hell of a punch. I've only just stopped crying. I'm saving this, favouriting this, memming this, anything I can do to ensure that I am never without this story.
Hey, thank you so much! CoE was so disappointing, on so many levels, that I really wanted to go forward with something I enjoyed, not just something that was handed to me. Thank you for coming along with me and then letting me know that you liked what I've attempted to do. And I am really, really glad that you liked Mac - OC's are tricky, so thank you for accepting her, too.
Again - thank you! I'm *so* glad you enjoyed this!
This is what CoE could have been. This what it *should* have been. Thank you for a wonderful piece of IC fic. I think my favourite bit of Torchwood planning was the back up bases kept off the record and I loved Mac.
Aw, thank you! It totally made sense to me that TW would have a backup facility, it was one of the (many) plotholes I wanted to close. I'm so glad you liked that part! Thanks for letting me know your thoughts, it's always so appreciated!
