A-Team goodness!

I swear to God, Dwight Schultz IS the original Johnny Depp. His Murdock on "The A-Team" was nothing short of acting *genius,* and I would not be at all shocked to know that he was some inspiration at some level on Johnny. (The fact that Murdock wasn't even written into the first 13 episodes, and Dwight had to create his own character and come up ( Read more... )

I never knew that.

I was always rather fond of Murdock - obviously it was Face that I fancied, but Murdock was so wonderfully nuts. Utterly crazy on the surface, but you just knew that there was a genius hiding under the crazy. And the man could fly anything with wings or a rotor.

One of the first rules of watching A-Team episodes: If a chopper showed up somewhere in the episode, you KNEW Murdock would end up piloting it at some point. It's like introducing the proverbial gun in an early act of a play.

Ah, the gun on the mantlepiece or the belt on the back of the door. And the helicopter.

There should be a list of "MUSTS" for the A-Team and us fans should come up with it. For example:

There is always at least one slashy moment between Face and Murdock in any given episode.

The chopper thing I mentioned above.

In every third episode, B.A. would have to be knocked out to fly.

When I think A-Team, what comes to mind is: "Trash bag? Trash bag?" :p Otherwise, I just remember how much I loved it. (I fear the Alzheimer's is already making it's appearance.)

Dwight Schultz was such a lovable nut (and a perfect fit for Barclay too). I'm such a slacking fan - I have no idea what he's done lately. *wanders off to imdb*

He's not done much lately. I think he co-hosts a radio program, "Dark Matters" or some such is the name of it, with a conspiracy magazine editor. I would say he's probably just enjoying recovering from raising his daughter to adulthood, LOL.

Did you ever see "Fat Man and Little Boy" with Paul Newman, where Schultz played Robert Oppenheimer? It was fabulous; you should check it out.

Hi there! Hope you don't mind me commenting.. this really has nothing to do with the post, but in your journal in general. I really enjoy reading your entries and get a far amount of kicks with what you write. So, I figured I'd finally just comment and request if you would perhaps friend me? Seems reasonable as I'm stalking around your LJ a lot, not mention admire your fanfiction tons. :3
