Is this a relevant source, for sure? Just wondering, because so many places have been saying it's been canceled, and a day later we're told not to believe anything yet.

I don't know how reliable the Hollywood Reporter is, but the info about the other networks have been confirmed elsewhere. Who knows?

The Hollywood Reporter and Variety are probably the most formal and best sources around, considering they are the biggest entertainment industry trade magazines out there. I trust it.

Huh, if it's true it's unfortunate, especially considering (IMO) the renewal of the badly done Dawson's knock-off that is One Tree Hill.

Variety's still saying "And while nothing's official, people familiar with the situation said "Mars" was, indeed, canceled" (http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117964957.html?categoryid=14&cs=1) so I still think there's a tiny tiny chance it could get saved if the last eps suddenly have better ratings or the FBI scripts blow them away

That looks like a direct rip from Variety, except for the part about VM coming back. If VM truly were cancelled, there are a few TV critics that would be going nuts right now and they aren't. So I'm going to hold out a little longer.

If One Tree Hill gets renewed, and Veronica Mars doesn't, I'll kill myself. Or, you know, something a little less dramatic but equally satisfying. Like spork my eyes out to make sure I never watch another crap show of the CW's. Because I'm pretty sure that would be less painful.

Well, pretty sure. I think.

I hate the CW, dammit.

I admit this season has not been up to par, but that doesn't make me like VM any less despite how much I've whined about things.

I'm not ready to see it six feet underground, but reading all these news about our show definitely not getting picked up has me hating the CW also.

I think I will jump in your "never watch another crap show of the CW's" bandwagon...I guess I can give up Supernatural cold turkey since I only really watched it because Jensen is so damn cute - but the show is good too.
