there was also the thing last season about Mac and Cassidy's pizza tour, and I really doubt there are that many places that have awesome vegan pizza in Neptune. However, we never heard Mac call herself a vegan, so I always figured it was just something she told her parents to annoy them or that she was just temporarily a vegan, but it is annoying that they aren't even acting like she was ever even vegetarian (though also, her comments about her family were sarcastic and about her family rather than herself, and they obviously were very into meat if her mom found her veganism crazy, and I could also see her pretending not to care about animal rights to push the vegan boy away, but if she had been vegan I would think she'd at least know what clothing was cruelty free, so I too am slightly annoyed!)

Exactly! The part about the clothing also sort of bothered me, cause as a vegetarian/vegan, you're immediately conscious of your wardrobe being cruelty-free. *shrug* I suppose we're just not supposed to read too much into it, or something. >_

There are actually lots of vegans/vegitarians who are that way for reasons OTHER than animal rights, so that's not necessarily true.

I know one guy who's that way simply because that's how he was raised and meat would make him sick if he ate it after not having it all this time.

Ah eek, sorry, didn't mean to generalize. Yeah, a lot of people do go off of meat for health reasons. I guess I was just speaking from my own standpoint.

Ah, thanks a bunch for digging up the quote. Heh I didn't even notice the pacifier thing *is slow*, but yeah, it all just doesn't seem to add up. It's like the whole date-of-Shelly-Pomroy's-party all over again. *re*

They were going there more undercover to find out who stole the animals. Maybe she was just being sarcastic because she didn't really want to get involved? Hmm... I don't know. I don't find it a big deal tho, sorry.

Yeah I know it isn't as big a discrepancy as some of the other storylines the writers have messed up every now and then.

That's the way I saw it too. She said all that because she really wasn't all that interested in getting involved.

I don't think it's that inconsistent, her family was very much a meat and potatoes family, just another difference between her and them (seeing how she's not related to them and all). I think she was probably vegan for a while, and with the pizza quest thing, she's probably vegetarian now and just had cheese pizza. Or something I dunno heh...

Also, her mom could just have gotten it wrong, maybe she doesn't really know what a vegan is and got the terms confused, and Mac was really just a vegetarian all along...

I too just thought it was her being sarcastic and really, just being Mac. I didn't see it as an error, I actually assumed that she was simply making fun of her family.
