One afternoon at GDC

For those of you not in the games industry, GDC is the Game Developers Conference and it is held every year in March in either San Jose or San Francisco. Game developers from all over the world come together to hock their wares, commiserate about their woes, and collaborate on their hopeful future successes. the GDC sounds like a great time. I'm going to miss it again this year but plan on going later with my gamer buddy in a big caravan.

Next year I'll actually be staying at a hotel in town (whichever town it's in) and the family will be back on the east coast, so I expect it to be much more social with drinks, dinner, parties, etc. I'll probably have a lot more meetings next year as well, and I have set a personal goal of trying to do a talk, although I have no idea what topic yet.
