She lives

Just checking in, brushing some dust off the furniture, airing out the drapery! It's been so long since I posted to my blog that my browser lost the cookie for my Textpattern login. However, am very much not dead!

10. Oooh wow, too bad you're not going further south to Houston, I'd have loved a chance to grab lunch or coffee or something!

And huge congrats on the wedding and the being hitched and doing it during a hurricane! LOL!

And the pics are beautiful! I love your dress and the flowers and all the color and especially that pic of your and your dad (looks like you're just starting down the aisle?) - did you get married at your parents' house? or a park somewhere?

Aw, that would've been great! And actually, our minister (pictured above!) is from Houston and it would've been nice to visit her too.

The wedding was at my parents' house, which has a really pretty (if hilly) yard. And the hurricane failed to blow down our tent, for which we were profoundly grateful! You can bet we made a BIG point of putting "Rock You Like a Hurricane" on the dance mix. It was awesome.

Yay pictures!

I have my Greenwood Cemetery pictures up too:

It's amazing the difference in light between the Noon and 3 PM tours. My camera doesn't have a B&W mode, so I've been playing with Photoshop.

Hm, are you sure it doesn't? I know yours is the earlier model, but it's possible that it's just really well hidden. On mine it is -- it's in the menu section where you can set the contrast and saturation levels and stuff like that. It let me create a setting labeled "B&W" in that section of the preferences. (Not that this is *true* B&W -- the RAW files are still in color -- but the jpegs and the on-screen preview are all B&W so you at least get the B&W feeling as you're working.)

And yeah, we were getting some amazing blasts of light on the noon tour. It looked like things had gone more uniformly gray later on. It's funny how we took pictures of some of the exact same things, but they came out so very differently! Different light... and different eyes!
