Ok, here's an explaination on the whole Season 1 of Doctor Who being the 9th Doctor. The old series, back in the sixties, went on for a while but they stopped at Doctor 7. They made a movie in the early 90's I think of the 8th Doctor. Then! They brought back the series with the 9th Doctor several years ago. Because it's kind of a revival, it's Series 1 (sometimes listed as Season.) The previous episodes all belong to Seasons, and right now, we're on the 6th Series, 32nd Season. Kind of confusing, but you get used to it. Also! The whole fun of it is that it's kind of campy? and bad effects. Honestly, the funding wasn't great then because people didn't expect it to take off again. If you really want to get into Doctor Who, I'd just start with watching the last two episodes of that season, and then starting with the Tenth Doctor. Or, alternatively, you can just start with Doctor Eleven (Series 5.) A LOT of people have been doing that, and it's a lot less corny and campy. And the effects are shit tons better

Eh, the effects don't bother me, I just find it amusing as hell. I'm probably going to keep going with the first season- I'm three episodes in, working on obtaining the next one, and it's not like there's a lot of eps. It's kind of fun so far. Might as well, right? It's just weird to me to be starting to far into the series, but... oh well.

Yeah, love the effects! Keep at it! It doesn't feel kind of weird starting in the middle, but really, starting at Doctor 9, it's practically a whole new show.
