Hooray for U.S.Men's Volleyball! & Olympics Closing Ceremonies

After the murder of Coach McCutcheon's father right at the beginning of the Olympics, their victory tonight just made me so happy. From everything I can see, the coach looks like a real inspirational person, and they never, never gave up ( Read more... )

That was all so typical of Boris. LOL. He could have done with pulling his trousers up and *not* shoving his hands in his pockets (P reckoned that was typical Eton boy behaviour.) But his hair was cut and neat which is *not* usual for him and he looked so proud to be there that I thought, 'Awww, bless.' P tells me that Boris was actually the only one wearing his suit correctly. If it's a one button jacket rather than a double breasted you don't do the jacket up apparently. The problem with that is that with Boris's build the result can be scruffy. The other guys looked much neater.

And lord knows what happened with Leona Lewis... I think the audio was bust. I liked the bus though. :-)

And while I'm grousing, I must correct my error--it was Coach McCutcheon's father-in-law who was killed, not his father.

Yes, the London mayor did look very proud and happy--as well he should be. Thanks to P for his fashion commentary, too. ;) You're right--the other men did look much more tailored.

I liked the bus--that was very clever indeed! And glad to know it wasn't just me--that the audio was messed up during Leona & Jimmy's performance.

I've watched more of this Olympics than any other one--and really, really enjoyed it. I found myself getting emotional last night, between the men's volleyball game and the outpouring of enthusiasm of all the people at the closing ceremonies.

Well done!
