It's funny. If a performer (I'll nae be sullyin' the term 'artist' with this one, lass) manages to produce more than a single acclaimed record now, they're viewed as gods. Just to be a contrarian:

1) I think "Jagged Little Pill" counts as a worse Anal Bum Cover than her Canadian Pop days.
2) I think Cobain had more musical talent after the shotgun than before.

The point isn't any one person's opinion.
The point is that a single accomplishment can be a gravy train. For years. And years. And years.
Whether Cobain was good or not - sub- or objectively - is beside said point. Nirvana never had a chance to be productive, either on the side of the angels OR the demons. Or both.
I mean, Beatles, Metallica, even Pat Boone - they've all come up with multiple instances of their personal breed of popular hysteria. Like them or don't, but that they varied their personal twinkle enough to get noticed multiple times is impressive.
