Helen really does like her goons to be on the large side, doesn't she!

*pets Lyle and his pricking thumbs* I especially liked how Lyle had to fight his instincts with wanting to lick himself clean of the blood.

Re Lyle's instinct to lick himself clean, huminals are basically humans with a smidget of animal DNA but sometimes their animals instincts pop up at the worst times.

Well technically I think there is a 4% DNA difference between chimpanzees and humans

This was actually the first time I wrote a proper action scene since I usually tend to more introspective moods and I was really nervous about it!

This is definitely one of my favourite chapters as well. Loved the nearly licking touch, the same as munchkin picked up on, and the action with Helen's goons was great!

God I'm glad that came out the way I wanted :) Huminals are sentient, intelligent beings but sometimes the animal instincts in them try to take over (especially in time of stress) and it's only with difficulty that they can control them.

Keeping those instincts under control though it's want differentiate them from animals and from the image most humans used to have of them during the slavery years.

And YAY for getting the action scene right, I was really worried about it :)

I've been looking forward to reading this all day, and it didn't disappoint! Godd racking up of tension with Lyle's itchy thumbs, and I really thought Kermit might be dead there for a minute - I was all ready to come after you with a pickaxe! *g*

But I should have guessed that Helen wouldn't stay locked for long! And I'm a little bit scared by her liger goons! *meeps*

Glad you enjoyed this installment and I tell you, Joe and I were geeking out over the wiki weeks ago and stumbled over the ligers article, it was an instant of unison "We need one in the huminal 'verse" Well one turned into two and who else but Helen could use them properly? :)

Did you know that the gene that limits size occurs in female lions only and male tigers only. Thus when you breed a male lion with a female tiger you get something *huge* :D They just cried out to be made into muscle for someone and who better than Helen?
