THREE YEARS and she hasn't been to his house for turkey day yet?? Oh Raye. We have to get you out of your shell.
Also you've made me so incredibly hungry for mashed potatoes, and your recipe sounds friggin DECADENT (a whole STICK of butter ZOMG). We never have mashed potatoes and now I really want them.
Thanks for the plug--I reposted that fic in honor of turkey day!
I want more cute Couchfic. This was the first glimpse of Jake's family, and they are awesome. The tug-of-war at the end was XD and so sweet.
The potatoes are delicious. I must have just consumed about five million calories.
Recipe:
4-5 mid-sized potatoes (regular are better than red-skins for mashing. Yukon golds are good too, but pricier) 1 stick butter 1/2 cup milk Three cloves finely ground garlic 1 chicken bouillon cube 1 tbsp ranch dressing Three stalks fresh chives, chopped 1 tsp each: basil, thyme, rosemary and dill
Peel and quarter potatoes Boil potatoes in slightly salted water until a fork goes through the fattest piece easily. Drain the water, leaving enough in the pot to dissolve the chicken bouillon cube. Add everything else above. Mix with either a potato masher or an electric hand-mixer until desired level of fluffiness. Season with salt and pepper. Devour!
