solus: about
Nestled in the northwest area of Verinthia lies a still fledgeling city by the name of Solus. To the west is the sea, the northern boundary is the mountains, the east holds the swamp and jungles, and its southern border runs along one of the major rivers. However, unlike the other three established territories, Solus does not have an overruling guild. In fact, it has no head guild and is instead comprised of independents.
Solus is essentially the independent zone, where those who did not want to associate themselves to any of the three factions and live out on their own. Any person or guild is free to reside within the area so long as they respect one another. Those who are affiliated with any of the three factions are free to travel through it, but will be more than likely be regarded with some distance, particularly if anyone tries to convince them to join their faction.
Due to its independent nature and affinity to attract any kind of guild, conflicts with other guilds and fights can occur. As there is currently no actual overseeing system, the territory is also considered to be unstable. As Raserun is the closest to it, Dai-Gurren keeps a distant watch over it, but does not really interfere with what happens within Solus. If anything happens that could threaten any of the other three factions, however, Dai-Gurren will step in to help settle the disputes. It helps that the nature of Dai-Gurren is similar to that of Solus, so they are on more friendlier terms than compared with the others.
In a word, Solus could be considered as "rough". While several guilds have used their own specialities and accepted some aid from the more established factions, the main city and neighboring towns within the territory is still relatively underdeveloped. It has all the essential technology, including the traveling portals and access to the Network, but it is still a developing area. Those residing within the area can help each other, but it is an understood notion that everyone is on their own. Other than general understood moral codes, the only justice system is the self's idea of justice. There are no real laws, only generic guidelines.
For Solus, the phrase "to each their own" takes on a literal meaning.
