@.@ I wish I could knit something like thaaaaat! I never really got beyong making ribs & a very sloppy increase/decrease. My intarsia is on fire, at least, but all I can ever do are panels. ^_^;

Adorable headband is ADORABLE!!

I can see what you're talking about in relation to the 'deep and meaningful' behind most art. Its one of the reasons why I headed into Graphic Design. Sure there's a ZILLION reasons why you do what you do for each client, but they're all based on fact and reality. Its more about what you know than what you can envision. Less wank, moar practical xD

Also, when you move to Chicago, there's a yearly conference in January just outside of the city called SEA Conference (self employment in the arts) i went this year and it was really interesting, and I think it could really help you out. Registration is only $50, it's a two day conference.
