[ It had started around noon exactly. Just... memories at first, then the growing feeling of frustration that accompanied them. This time, however, it was much stronger than it ever was. It wasn't just anger, it was a strange sort of longing.

Sasuke had controlled it well, pushing it away and to the side and smothering it with other preoccupations. Had controlled it. It was when he'd gone into the kitchen for a simple snack and seen them there, together on the couch, that that ugly envy had really taken root. He watched quietly, not needing to understand all of their words to know what was happening. After all, how many times had he showed a lack of enthusiasm to similar company? This time, however...

He can see a frown on her features, quietly following when she at last moves from that couch. ]

[ She sighs as she walks away, not really noticing Sasuke at first. She's too busy being flustered and annoyed. It was embarrassing, being turned away like that. Even though her approach hadn't been the best...well, she'd been hoping he would at least consider it! He'd just turned her away, though. Without a second thought.

Another sigh. What was with her today? And why did she want this so badly all of a sudden? It didn't make much sense, and it didn't seem to be going away anytime soon. How vexing... ]

[ It probably isn't going to clear her thoughts anymore when Sasuke suddenly steps closer, firmly gripping her wrist in order to direct her into her old room -- the one he'd taken up residence in. He lightly closes the door as an afterthought, dark eyes focused on her face but whatever emotion is in them isn't easily discernable. "Intense" is a good description. He just knows he wants to interact with her right now, that's all. There's something about not speaking to anyone for so long. Something about solitude, if that's the word he wants. ]

Clive? You are... mad? [ He's clearly been studying a little English with Hong Kong, not having much else to do here. ]

[ She was surprised, when he pulled her aside, and she probably would have been flustered, too, had it been any other day. For a moment she stares, looking him over as though she's actually seeing him for the first time. He was handsome, to be certain, and his eyes were sharp. Intelligent. Their intensity was something she found attractive...

Nonono, she stops that thought before it begins, trying to come to her senses as she shakes her head. ]

Mad? Oh, no, I'm...[ She tries to think of how to describe what she was feeling. What she wanted. Closeness? She wanted to be close to people, certainly, though in the strongest sense of the word.

She smiles slightly. ] I'm only a bit upset.

[ Sasuke watches silently as she speaks to him, noticing the way her expressions changed with each articulation. He's aware that she's attractive in the traditional sense but it never seemed very important to him. Even now all he can think is that Clive shouldn't think himself good enough that he had a right to turn her away.

He steps closer, boxing her in against the wall. ]

Why?

[ Flora suddenly she finds she wants to flirt with him. To slide an arm around his shoulder and--No. She's got to stop thinking like this. She still has enough sense to realize it's a bad idea, going for both her roommates...Sure, she and Clive weren't actually a thing. She liked him and he liked her, but...he wanted time......But couldn't she go for another in th--

nonononononoono she is not going there. She couldn't. Shouldn't?

She shakes her head again. Looking flustered. Not because of him, or the thing with Clive. No, it was because her thoughts were a jumbled mess and her desires were getting harder to ignore.

It really didn't help that she was backed up to a wall with nowhere to go. ]

Because I--Can't have something I want. [ It was something she shouldn't really want, yet she wanted it all the same. ]

[ He pauses, piercing eyes showing a brief flicker of confusion as he tried to reason out the meaning of her words. Ah... Most likely she wasn't feeling like her normal self either, then. ]

What is it? [ He speaks more quietly now, already feeling a little of that frustration again just from looking at her. Her problems... Their problems... How bad were they, in comparison? And if she was here, suffering in that way, did Clive deserve to have her at all? Why shouldn't they both suffer more from their own solitude? ]

[ She had told Clive it was Sex she wanted, and that was true. But it was more than that, too. Some underlying feeling that had bubbled up, turning into that intense desire. Companionship? No, it was more than that, too...Love? She didn't know for sure, and it was frustrating to think she couldn't pinpoint exactly what she wanted.

She seems nervous a moment, and then unsure. Her expression changes as she thinks and tries to figure everything out. At last she finally looks to him again, and without thinking her arm does slide up around his shoulder. She whispers in his ear. ]

I don't want to be alone. [ She rests her forehead near her arm before pulling away from him, looking embarrassed. She hadn't meant to do that at all. It had just been too tempting--Oh but she doesn't have far to back up, does she. Hello, wall. ]

[ Again Sasuke stops, hearing her voice and even feeling her breath ever-so-slightly against his ear. She's far too soft to be of any value to him as a fighter or as an ally, at least in that sense. No.

Right now to him she seems like a possession. Something, someone, that he had every right to have. ]

"Alone"... What is "alone"? [ It's a word that he hasn't been taught yet, though just looking at her now he can already guess its meaning. Sasuke leans in closer after she herself pulls away, giving her very little breathing room. ]

It's...[ She instinctively goes for her communicator, but realizes that in this attire she doesn't actually have it on her. Which is okay, she reasons. She should just speak anyway. He may not understand most of what she's saying, but...it would keep her under control.

Which was hard. He was leaning in so close. ]

Do you know the word 'lonely'? It's like that, only instead of just being lonely you're all by yourself. Solitary, forsaken, forgotten. Stuck up in a tower for ten years waiting for someone that doesn't show until you've forgotten how people work. And once you've finally got some semblance of a home, you get left behind on every adventure. On every chance to go out and grow and learn about the world. You get left at the flat, while they spend long hours at the office and you can't help but worry that one day they might not come back. It's like that. Or...or like going off and pacing an empty apartment when really all you want is to be next door. Lonely is what it is, and it's all I've ever...

I just.

I don't want to be ( ... )

[ Not once does he try to interrupt her despite only catching bits and pieces of her speech. Instead Sasuke does what he does best, watching every quirk or fluctuation in her facial expression. She was recalling something, that much is obvious to him, and it's something she's passionate about. Something... painful. Even of that he feels jealous, knowing very well how much of a motivator that kind of suffering could be. It could inspire so much... Why couldn't he have that purpose without the pain? Why couldn't he have all of it? ]

Lonely... alone? No people? [ Sasuke works out her meaning now, brow furrowing for a moment. His hands slowly slide up her arms to grip her shoulders tightly. ] And now, Clive. Hn. I have no people.

No, there were no people. I was all by myself. [ She has a far away look in her eye a moment, before turning back to look at him sadly. He, too, had had no one?

She shakes her head. ]

You have me.

[ She kisses him, then. She couldn't really help it, not when he was touching her and her mind was in two places at once. ]

[ At first there's no response. He has her... huh? Women have reacted to him in this way before, more times than he could count, and always before he would brush them off and leave them to those feelings of inadequacy. But this time it's different; she doesn't seem like she's trying to possess him. She's offering herself for possession instead.

Even her lips feel too soft as he finally presses forward against her, fingers almost bruising against her shoulders. ]

[ Trying to possess people wasn't something Flora had ever even considered. Just getting close to people was something she had trouble with. She didn't like the idea of 'claiming' someone. She just wanted to be accepted and loved. To have companionship, and the guarantee that she would never be lonely again.

Her heart flutters as she presses back, trying to find a place for her own hands. One comes to rest at the back of his neck, fingers twining gently in his hair. The other rests lightly at the front of his shoulder. She's aware his grip is tight, but she pays it no mind. Her thoughts are lost somewhere in the moment. ]

[ It's just as well. Words have shown to be less effective between the two of them given their mutual lack of understanding. Their lives are different and their worlds are far apart; that desire to combat loneliness is what they share right now.

For a moment Sasuke breaks that contact, something akin to anger in his eyes as he fights against that mounting frustration. Flora had kissed him, made the first move, so why did it still not feel like enough recognition?

One of his own hands slides to the back of her neck though his touch is predictably rougher in comparison. He uses that grip to direct her firmly as he initiates another kiss, one that was less forgiving and full of a need to prove himself. ]

[ It's obvious enough he has control. She's not going to fight him on that. In all honesty, she prefers being led along--Even if this is rougher than she'd anticipated. She does push back, though, hungry for more. She wasn't going to push him into bed or anything, but she desired his touch. His lips against hers... ]
