Blind-Skyped

Inês turned up on Microsoft Messenger. I tried to ask if anything was new down there, but the Portuguese translator fumbled on the word "down"... treated it as "feathers", haha. She asks if I have something called Orkut, which turns out to be Google's I.M. service. Then things really get interesting, as she mentions that she's managed to get Skype to work again! Put each other back into contact lists, try voice call,
The following is a paraphrase of the transcript of the text side of the call. Not much got actually said.

... my microphone needs adjustment. She looks at the recent posts here, well I can't exactly write stuff about a non-advancing story, can I? Then she asks about the picture (just about everyone else who reads this knows what's going on with that), and describes me using a word that both Google Translator and my dictionary fail on, "gatinho". Best I can come up with is that she called me a kitten. (the -inho ending meaning "small".) I'm hearing some other, younger voices in the room, she's trying to pass them off as the TV, but I can tell that what I'm hearing is out of a set of vocal cords right there in the room, not hers, not the TV. Perhaps she's calling from her brother's place or something, trying to keep her niece or nephew out of the way? She's saying a few of the same things as when this all started, but I have to call time as dinner's ready, try to hurry out and back, but took too long and she's gone. For this evening anyway.
