The next time he watches Ianto fade into the background, he understands. The next time he watches Ianto count quietly to himself, he understands. The next time Ianto disagrees with him, he listens to the careful way Ianto constructs the argument.
Oh my god. Yeah, baby. Okay so I love the formatting, and how the counting, in the end the counting of the story is actually the counting of the anger in a lot of ways (I am dumb and need to have this shit spelled out for me. No really). And I love that it doesn't descend into violence, not really, because I think that would have been too much, and you paint this home life with such a rise brush that I can fill in a lot of gaps and that works for me.
And the scene with Gwen. I love it to bits. I wish we had more fighting Jack/Ianto.
You're very welcome! I had been wondering whether people would get the numbers thing or not, because it's pretty obscure, so I'm glad you noticed it! And yay for the story love :). Thank you.
Wonderful and heartbreaking. Ianto's fear of his own anger and what it could do to his relationship with Jack (I hope I'm reading this right) is so very real.
Well. This is . . . about a lot more than Jack and Ianto. God, I love how the best writers of fanfic (especially, so it seems to me, in this fandom) can infuse certain stories with feelings - fears, joys - that truly resonate with what we are pleased to call real life. This is one of those. And you're one of those.

Thank you for that, too. It's a compliment I appreciate tremendously, seriously. Thank you for everything you said.
