Ianto's betrayal -- and Jack is intimately familiar with this -- was a result of circumstance, of horror that should not have been. Jack has seen and felt this so many times. Thank you for the compliments, I never tire of hearing these things! Post CC and post CW are rites of passage, I've always thought, along with post EoD and post EW, and post Adrift, and post Meat, maybe? I've pretty much done 'em all, this was my last one. Honestly, though, I have several rejected post CC fics that really felt like they said nothing new. Eventually, a bunny showed up that worked. I really enjoyed this. Fantastic interaction between Jack and both Ianto and Tosh, who really didn't have anyone else to talk to after the events of Countryside.
This was amazing! I am so glad I had some spare time in my life that keeps hitting me round the head with it's metaphorical paddle (Not as kinky as it sound... honest...) to read this!
You are very right when saying that the contrycide coda is very much a rite of passage and I hink you got through this one amamzingly well!
I am adding this to my memories becasue it is just amazing!
